A gothic, seductive Colette

Here’s a stunning photograph of Colette. She looks gothic, vampiric, feline, savage and seductive, all at the same time! She looks like a link in time — which she is — between Theda Bara and Louise Brooks. This picture captures the actress, rather than the writer — although she is best remembered for her writing, she was on the stage for over a decade. What I would give to travel back in time and be in the audience to watch, applaud, and throw roses at her bare feet!
